Kenny Onyechi came off the bench to score 18 points and grab 11 rebounds, leading Long Island to a 91-80 victory over Manhattan on Saturday.
The Blackbirds (3-0) led 40-33 at halftime and shot 16 of 31 (51.6 percent) from the floor in the second half to maintain their lead.
Long Island had five players score in double-figures. Julian Boyd had 17 points, Kyle Johnson added 14, David Hicks 12 and Michael Culpo 11.
The Jaspers (2-1) were in foul trouble throughout the game as they committed 27 personal fouls, sending Long Island to the free-throw line 40 times. The Blackbirds made 28 of those attempts.
Manhattan hit 13 of its 16 free-throw attempts.
The Jaspers also had five players score in double-figures, led by Michael Alvarado with 18 points. Kidani Brutus scored 17, George Beamon had 14, Andrew Gabriel 12 and Rhamel Brown 10.
