Casper Ware scored a career-high 30 points, including five 3-pointers, and Larry Anderson added 20 to lead Long Beach State to its sixth straight win, 78-69 over Cal Poly on Thursday night.

Ware was 9 of 12 from the field, including 5 of 6 from behind the arc. Eugene Phelps and T.J. Robinson added 10 points apiece for the 49ers (13-6), who matched last season's 6-0 start in Big West Conference play. LBSU shot 59 percent from the field, including a blistering 71 percent in the second half.

Will Taylor led the Mustangs (11-8, 2-4) with 16 points and eight rebounds, and David Hanson added 12 points.

Cal Poly never trailed in the first half en route to a 39-32 halftime lead. A Hanson basket made it 45-36 with 16:53 to play, but Long Beach State responded with a 29-6 run over the next eight minutes and cruised from there.
