Julian Boyd posted a double-double, including a game-high 19 points, as LIU beat Wagner 73-66 Saturday night.
Boyd also grabbed 15 rebounds for the Blackbirds (14-6, 8-0) as they handed Wagner (15-4, 6-2) its second Northeast Conference loss.
Leading 36-33 at intermission, LIU opened the second half with a 13-8 run to lead 49-41. Boyd got support from Jason Brickman, who scored 17 points on 3 for 3 from 3-point range while going 6 for 6 at the line.
Jamal Olasewere, who scored 18 points, had a huge second half for LIU. In a decisive 10-0 run later in the period, Olasawere scored eight points.
Wagner got 17 points from Latif Rivers, 14 from Jonathon Williams and made 14 of 16 foul shots. But LIU was 27 for 35 at the line, 21 for 25 in the second half. Wagner was just 4 for 19 from 3-point range.
