Julian Boyd had his fifth double-double of the season as Long Island University dominated the second half to defeat Texas State 100-84 Tuesday night.

Trailing 40-38 at halftime, the Blackbirds (7-6) shot 73.5 percent from the field (25 of 34) to surpass 100 points for the first time since defeating Old Westbury 105-50 on Nov. 25, 2006.

Boyd had 22 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field and grabbed 12 rebounds in his second straight big game. He posted 29 points and 17 rebounds in Saturday's 82-80 win over Saint Peter's.

Michael Culpo added 15 points, C.J. Garner 13 and Jason Brickman 12, plus 11 assists.

Texas State (6-4) led 42-40 with 19:05 left when the Blackbirds went on a 27-6 run, capped by five straight 3-pointers, three by Culpo.

The Bobcats, paced by Matt Staff with 19 points, would get no closer than 13 the rest of the way.
