Lafayette beats Fairleigh Dickinson 82-61

TEANECK, N.J. (AP) Senior Dan Trist had 18 points and a career-high 13 rebounds for his first double-double to lead Lafayette to an 82-61 win over at Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday.

Bryce Scott added 13 points for the Leopards (4-2). The Knights (2-3) got 15 points from Matt MacDonald, 14 from Mustafaa Jones and 13 from Darian Anderson.

Trailing 15-13 11 minutes into the game, Trist scored a layup that started a 16-2 run for a 29-17 lead at 7:18.

Fairleigh Dickinson trailed 46-37 at the half and closed within four early in the second half, but a 10-0 run, the last four by Scott, made it 68-49 with 12:16 left.

The Leopards shot 52 percent and made 19 of 23 free throws while limiting the Knights, who were just 9 of 19 from the foul line, to 38 percent from the field.
