Chris Evans came off the bench to score 23 points in Kent State's77-61 victory over Toledo Saturday night in a Mid-American Conference game.
Evans gave a superb all-around performance for Kent State (14-6, 4-3). He hit 9 of 10 field goal attempts, including all three of his 3-pointers. Evans was 2 for 3 at the foul line, grabbed six rebounds, made four steals and dished out three assists.
Teammates Justin Greene and Michael Porrini each scored 14 points, with Porrini also recording eight assists.
Rian Pearson led Toledo (10-11, 2-5) with 22 points on 10-for-19 shooting. The guard also took seven rebounds, while Matt Smith and Curtis Dennis added 13 points apiece.
The Rockets were undone by their inefficiency beyond the 3-point arc. They hit just 1 of 16 treys, and were 23 for 59 from the floor.
Kent State hit 27 of 51 shots from the field.
