Rodriguez Sherman scored 17 points as Kent State defeated Central Michigan 66-53 in a Mid-American Conference game on Saturday.

Justin Greene added 12 points for the Golden Flashes (15-7, 6-2), including 10 in the first half, which they ended with a 33-19 lead.

Kent State led by as many as 20 points and never by fewer than 10 in the second half, when it shot 68.4 percent (13 of 19) after making 28.6 percent (10 of 35) in the first half.

Jalin Thomas scored 15 points and Andre Coimbra 14 for the Chippewas (6-16, 3-6), who shot 31.6 percent (18 of 57) for the game, including 25 percent (7 of 28) in the first half.

The victory was Kent State's fourth in a row and its 500th in 60 seasons at the M.A.C. Center. The Golden Flashes moved into first place in the conference's East Division by a half-game because Bowling Green lost 75-61 to Western Michigan.
