Kansas St. 66, Delaware 63
Will Spradling scored 12 points and made four free throws in the final 30 seconds to lead Kansas State into the championship game of the NIT Season Tipoff with a 66-63 win over Delaware on Wednesday night.
The Wildcats (5-0) overcame 32 points by Devon Saddler and will play the winner of the other semifinal between No. 4 Michigan and Pittsburgh.
After Spradling's free throws with 9.6 seconds left, Angel Rodriguez fouled Saddler as he attempted a 3-pointer with a second left. Saddler missed the first shot, made the second and intentionally missed the third, but the Blue Hens (2-2) couldn't corral the high rebound.
Saddler made three 3-pointers down the stretch to put pressure on the Wildcats, who led by 11 midway through the second half.
Rodriguez and Thomas Gipson also scored 12 points apiece for the Wildcats.
Jamelle Hagins had 15 rebounds and 12 points for Delaware, but was ineffective after a second-half leg injury.
