Julius Wells made 9 of 11 shots from 3-point territory, scoring 28 points as James Madison defeated Northeastern 75-69 on Monday night.

The Dukes won their sixth home game in a row, and beat the Huskies at home for the first time in four tries as Wells set a career high and tied a single-game school record with the 3-pointers.

Denzel Bowles added 19 points for the Dukes (11-3, 1-1 Colonial Athletic Association), who won their fifth in a row overall.

Northeastern (4-9, 0-2), playing its sixth game on a seven-game road trip, lost its third straight. Dinko Marshavelski led the Huskies with a career-high 23 points while Ryan Pierson added 17 points.

Northeastern led by eight points with 5:53 left in the first half and by four at halftime. But Bowles gave the Dukes the lead for good 44-42 on a layup with 15:57 left, though the Huskies pulled to within one three times.
