Denzel Bowles hit a pair of free throws in the final minute to erase a 20-point deficit and help James Madison beat Princeton 65-64 on Monday night.

The Dukes (2-1) led 63-61 with 1:11 remaining when Princeton guard Douglas Davis nailed a wide-open 3-pointer in the corner to put the Tigers in front 64-63 with 47 seconds on the clock.

After a James Madison timeout, Bowles was fouled by Dan Mavraides with 28 seconds left and nailed both free throws, giving the Dukes a 1-point advantage, 65-64.

The Tigers (1-2) were unable to get a shot off following a timeout with 25 seconds remaining, sealing the comeback win for James Madison.

The Dukes trailed by 20 points, 45-25, with 4:38 left in the first half, but Princeton failed to make a field goal until the 10:01 to go in the game. The Tigers shot 3 for 19 (15.8 percent) in the second.

Bowles ended with 29 points.
