Jacksonville St. stuns E. Kentucky 71-67 with late rally

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) Darion Rackley had 25 points Thursday night and Jacksonville State overcame a seven-point deficit with less than two minutes left to beat Eastern Kentucky 71-67.

Jacksonville State (9-12, 2-5 Ohio Valley) trailed 66-59 on Corey Waldren's free throws with 1:31 left for Eastern Kentucky (11-7, 3-2).

Rackley hit a pair of free throws with 1:22 left, made a quick steal and hit a 3-pointer six seconds later. He then had another steal at the 50-second mark which he fed to Jamel Hunter for a three-point play. The Gamecocks had scored eight points in 34 seconds for a 67-66 lead.

Hunter added a pair of free throws with 19 seconds left, Ja'Mill Powell made 1 of 2 from the foul line for EKU, and Malcom Drumwright had two free throws for the Gamecocks to cap the scoring with four seconds.

Eric Stutz and Timmy Knipp led the Colonels with 16 points.
