Jackson State holds off Concordia (Ala.) 73-63

Kelsey Howard scored 20 points and Christian Williams added 19 as Jackson State held off Concordia (Ala.) in a 73-63 win on Sunday night.

The Tigers (1-4) scored 26 points off 25 turnovers, including five points off two giveaways during a game-clinching run.

Concordia, which hadn't led since being up 16-15 with 8 minutes left in the first half, tied it at 48 with 8:54 to play. The Tigers then scored eight straight to go up 56-48 on Keeslee Stewart's 3-pointer with 5:54 remaining. Concordia wouldn't get any closer than six the rest of the way.

Jenirro Bush added 12 points and Sydney Coleman 10 for the Tigers.

Travis Rasco led the NAIA Hornets with 26 points. John Nixon chipped in 13 points for Concordia, which tallied just seven assists.

Jackson State had 14 assists with Williams dishing out eight.
