Jenirro Bush scored 23 points as Jackson State routed Spring Hill 80-32 on Tuesday night.

The Tigers (3-7) took their third win in five games after starting the season 0-5. Jackson State shut down the Badgers (4-4) in the second half, allowing them only 10 points.

Spring Hill, an NAIA school, shot only 2 for 21 from the field (9.5 percent) in the second half and 0 for 8 from long range. For the game, the Badgers shot 9 for 42 from the field (21.4 percent), including 1 of 13 from 3-point range.

Bush was 9 of 16 from the floor in 24 minutes. Tyrone Hanson added 12 points and Grant Maxie, who started his first game since a Nov. 13, 2009, loss to Memphis, chipped in 10.

The Tigers shot 29 for 64 (45.3 percent) from the field for the game and hit 8 of 23 3-pointers.

Jackson State also had a 49-28 rebounding edge.

Stephen Burches led Spring Hill with nine points.
