Tyrone Hanson had 19 points and six rebounds to lead Jackson State to its first win of the season, a 72-67 victory over Eastern Washington on Wednesday in the final round of the Las Vegas Classic.
Garrison Johnson and Rod Melvin scored 14 points apiece for the Tigers (1-10). De'Suan Dixon added nine points and nine rebounds.
Glen Dean and Benny Valentine led Eastern Washington (4-9) with 17 points each. Abebe Demissie added 11.
Neither team built more than a four-point first-half lead. The Tigers were up 28-26 at intermission.

The Eagles took two one-point leads in the second half, but Jackson State grabbed the lead for good 52-50 on a basket by Dixon. The Tigers built two late 12-point leads.
