Frank Gaines scored 21 points and Trey McCorkle added 11 to lead IPFW to a 56-51 victory against Dartmouth on Tuesday night.
With the Mastodons (6-3) leading by a point, McCorkle had two layups in a 40-second span, with the second giving IPFW a 52-47 lead with 1:14 remaining. John Golden hit a 3-pointer to get Dartmouth (2-7) within four points, but that was its last gasp.
David Rufful had 15 points and Golden 11 for the Mean Green, who shot just 36 percent (18 for 50) from the floor.
