Iona 82, Niagara 58
Michael Glover scored 30 points and pulled down 11 rebounds, leading Iona to a 82-58 blowout win over Niagara in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play on Sunday.
A layup from Glover at the 10:17 mark of the opening half gave the Gaels (5-3, 2-0) a 32-12 lead as they entered halftime with a 43-29 advantage.
Iona stretched its lead to 25, 78-53, after a 3-pointer from Kyle Smyth with 4:07 left to play.
The Purple Eagles (2-6, 0-2) shot 20 for 56 from the floor (35.7 percent) and were outrebounded 39-31. Anthony Nelson scored 16 points to lead Niagara.
Glover shot 14 of 17 from the field (82.4 percent) and has registered at least 30 points in two consecutive games after scoring 39 against Canisius on Dec. 3. It is also Glover's fourth double-double in Iona's last five games.
Scott Machado had 11 assists and nine points, while Smyth added 17 points for the Gaels.
