Injured Duke point guard Kyrie Irving took part in some conditioning drills Friday, but did not dress for the fifth-ranked Blue Devils' ACC tournament opener against Maryland later that night.

Irving came out on the Greensboro Coliseum court about 90 minutes before tipoff in uniform shorts and sneakers and jogged, shuffled and dribbled near Duke's basket.

At the other end of the court, Maryland's Jordan Williams couldn't help but watch.

Team spokesman Matt Plizga said Irving was simply working out because practice time is limited during the postseason.

Irving wore street clothes and topsiders — and not a protective boot — as he stood near the bench a few minutes before tipoff.

Irving's missed more than three months with an injured big toe on his right foot.
