Last season: 20-14, lost in first NCAA tournament game.

Nickname: Hoosiers.

Coach: Tom Crean.

Conference: Big Ten.

Key Returners: All-conference guard Kevin ''Yogi'' Ferrell was top scorer (16.3 points) last season and could break school record for assists; Troy Williams, third-leading scorer (13.0) and top rebounder (7.4), came back after considering entering NBA draft; James Blackmon Jr. finished second in scoring (15.7) as freshman and had offseason surgery on his left knee.

Who Left: Emmitt Holt, who showed promise in his freshman season, was expected to play bigger role this season before being booted off team for trouble off the court; Hanner Mosquera-Perea, an athletic forward who started 22 games last season, was dismissed; Stanford Robinson, a highly touted recruit, transferred.

The Skinny: Getting former Michigan forward Max Bielfeldt and two prominent freshmen - 6-foot-10 center Thomas Bryant and 6-7 forward Juwan Morgan - gives Indiana its biggest and deepest front line since Cody Zeller left. Adding those three to experienced backcourt that has three big-time scorers could put Indiana in contention for a league title.
