Marc Brown scored 15 points Saturday to lead Illinois-Chicago to a 62-55 victory over winless Northern Illinois.

Daniel Barnes added 12 points and Gary Talton 11 for the Flames (3-5), whose three-game losing streak ended. Hayden Humes grabbed 10 rebounds.

Antone Christian and Keith Gray scored 11 apiece for the Huskies (0-8), who had been idle all week for finals.

The Flames shot just 38.8 percent (19 of 49), though they did make 8 of 18 from 3-point range, led by four from Barnes.

Northern Illinois shot 36.4 percent (20 of 55) and was outrebounded 42-34.

The Flames led 42-40 when Brown scored five points in a 7-0 run for a 49-40 edge with 7:01 left. The Huskies responded with a 9-1 surge to trail 50-49 with 2:02 to go, but the Flames' Paris Carter hit consecutive baskets to seal it.

NIU is 0-10 on trips to UIC since 1993.
