Howard pulls away from Maryland-Eastern Shore behind Cole (Jan 27, 2018)

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) RJ Cole scored 28 points, Charles Williams scored 19 and Howard outscored Maryland-Eastern Shore 20-10 down the stretch for an 85-75 win on Saturday.

Cole's jumper gave Howard a 69-68 lead with 6:29 remaining following Logan McIntosh's 3 for the Hawks and the Bison never trailed again. Kyle Foster added 13 points for Howard (6-17, 3-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference).

Miryne Thomas converted a 3-point play for the Hawks to tie it at 71 but Cole answered with a 3-pointer, made another 3 with 3:03 left and Howard led 79-73. McIntosh's jumper with the 2:55 to play ended the scoring for the Hawks who missed their last four field-goal attempts.

Thomas finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds, McIntosh had 17 points and eight assists, Jones scored 15 and Colen Gaynor had 10 for the Hawks (5-18, 1-7).
