Hot-shooting Davidson beats Samford 109-88

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) De'Mon Brooks scored 28 points and Brian Sullivan added 25 as Davidson shot a school-record 72.7 percent from 3-point range and beat Samford 109-88 on Thursday night.

Davidson (13-11, 9-1 Southern Conference) hit 16 of 22 from beyond the arc, 7 of 10 coming from Sullivan. The Wildcats shot 64.9 percent from the field overall.

Tyler Kalinoski added 19 points and Tom Droney had 18 points and 10 assists for Davidson, which won its sixth straight game. Brooks went 10 of 13 from the field.

The Wildcats went on a 36-17 run over a span of less than 10 minutes in the first half en route to a 61-44 halftime lead.

Tim Williams led Samford (10-15, 4-6) with 26 points. The Bulldogs shot 58.9 percent from the field but couldn't stop Davidson.
