Hooten's 3 lifts Arkansas St. over N. Texas 75-72

Marcus Hooten hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer and scored 24 points as Arkansas State defeated North Texas 75-72 on Saturday.
Hooten hit a pair of free throws with 27 seconds remaining to tie the game at 72, then partially blocked a shot at the other end. Malcoln Kirkland grabbed the rebound and fed Hooten, who raced down the floor with 2.2 seconds left and got his shot off just before the buzzer.
Kirkland added 15 points and Trey Finn 14 for Arkansas State (8-9, 2-1 Sun Belt).
Chris Jones led North Texas (9-8, 2-2) with 17 points and five assists, and Jordan Williams had 15 points.

Jones had tied the game at 70 with a 3-pointer with 1:56 remaining, then scored on an off-balance shot with 43 seconds left to put North Texas on top.
