High Point rallies past William & Mary 66-63

HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) John Brown had 21 points, nine rebounds, five blocks and a key dunk late in the game, as High Point rallied for a 66-63 win over William & Mary Saturday night.

After falling behind by 14 early in the second half, the Panthers (6-2) stormed back with a 23-4 run sparked by Brian Richardson and Brown. Tarique Thompson made a layup and Brown hit two free throws to lead 53-48 with 3:55 left.

Terry Tarpey's layup pulled William & Mary (5-3) within three, but Devante Wallace answered with a 3-pointer for a 60-54 advantage. A 3-pointer by Daniel Dixon made it a three-point game again with 27 seconds left. Brown followed with a dunk and then split a pair of free throws to seal it.

Richardson scored 12 points and Wallace had 11 for High Points.

Tarpey paced the Tribe with 13 points, nine boards and five assists.
