Nick Barbour scored 19 points to lead six players in double-figures as High Point defeated Gwynedd-Mercy 86-77 on Friday night.
The Panthers (2-1) shot 28 for 61 (45.9 percent) from the floor and led 46-37 at halftime thanks to a 28-12 scoring advantage in the paint.
Jon Hogga scored a game-high 24 points and pulled down 15 rebounds for the Griffins (1-1), but it wasn't enough as Gwynedd-Mercy fell behind by 13 points, 69-56, with 9:18 left to play.
Earnest Bridges and Tehran Cox each added 15 points for the Panthers. Du'Vaughn Maxwell and Shay Shine scored 11 apiece, while Corey Law came off the bench to score 10.
Frank Champion was 6 for 6 from the floor and scored 13 points for the Griffins in the loss. Jon Crabtree added 12 points and Dan Delconte had 11 for Gwynedd-Mercy.
