Henson, Wagner dial long distance to beat Fairfield, 76-64

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) Corey Henson hit three straight 3-pointers during a two-minute stretch late in the first half to push Wagner into the lead and send the Seahawks to a 76-64 win over Fairfield in a nonconference game Friday night.

Henson's third trey gave Wagner (6-3) a 27-25 lead. Aaren Edmead added a 3-pointer and Romone Saunders got to the rim for a layup with 11 seconds left to send the Seahawks into intermission with a 32-26 advantage.

A perfect 6-for-6 Henson from behind the arc, Henson finished with 18 points. Michael Carey added 16 points and 13 rebounds off the bench.

Wagner shot 13 of 23 (56.5 percent) from long distance while limiting Fairfield to 6 of 23 from beyond the arc.

Jerome Segura scored 17 points to lead Fairfield (4-5) while Matija Milin and Coleman Johnson came off the bench to add 10 points and grab 11 rebounds, respectively.
