Bill Amis scored 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Hawaii to an 84-70 win over Cal State-Fullerton Saturday night in the Rainbow Classic.
Bo Barnes came off the bench for 19 points, Hiram Thompson had 18 points with seven assists and Zane Johnson added 13 points for the Rainbow Warriors (2-0).
The Titans (0-2) tied it at 70 with 3:39 to play on a pair of Isiah Umipig free throws, but Hawaii scored the final 14 points of the game. Thompson, a senior point guard, made all six of his free throws in the final 3:12 and hit a 3-pointer that made it 78-70 with 1:30 left.
Hawaii shot 52 percent from the field and 42 percent from beyond the arc.

Fullerton?s Orane Chin led all players with 27 points. Hawaii held a 41-35 advantage at the half.
