Grand Canyon edges Chicago State 76-75

CHICAGO (AP) Killian Larson scored 28 points and grabbed a career-high 20 rebounds as Grand Canyon withstood a rally from Chicago State for a 76-75 win Thursday.

Grand Canyon (10-10, 5-2 Western Athletic Conference) jumped to a 49-36 halftime lead before Chicago State (9-12, 4-3) rallied to tie the game at 64 with 6 minutes left, setting up a close finish.

Blake Davis made a 3 with 51 seconds left to put Grand Canyon up 73-68, but Quinton Pippen responded with a long 3-pointer for the Cougars.

With Grand Canyon leading 76-72, Pippen hit another 3-pointer with 4 seconds left. Jerome Garrison then missed two free throws for the Antelopes but Pippen's desperation heave from beyond half court missed as Grand Canyon held on.

Garrison added 17 points for the Antelopes.

Clarke Rosenberg led the Cougars with 25 points. Pippen added 19 points while Matt Ross had 13 points and 12 rebounds.
