Dante Curry scored 12 points and Georgia State defeated Towson 73-65 on Saturday night.

With the score tied at 36 early in the second half, Georgia State went on a 19-2 run to put the game out of reach at 55-38. Curry hit a 3-pointer to cap the run with 10:38 remaining.

Towson rallied in the final minutes and got as close as six points with 29 seconds left.

James Vincent and Jihad Ali each added 11 points for the Panthers (8-6, 3-1 Colonial Athletic Association), who have won four of their past five games. The Panthers are 5-1 in the series at home.

Strong play by the reserves made the difference as the Panthers' bench outscored the Towson bench 30-2.

Braxton Dupree led Towson (4-10, 0-4) with 21 points, Josh Brown added 14, Isaiah Philmore had 13 and Rashawn Polk 12. It was the third loss in the row and fifth in the past six games for Towson.
