Willie Powers and Ben Drayton III combined for 13 of Georgia Southern's 14 points in the second overtime as the Eagles outlasted The Citadel 78-72 on Monday night.

Georgia Southern (8-11, 6-3 Southern Conference), which has won two straight, led 27-24 at the break. The lead went back and forth in the second half. After the Eagles' Eric Ferguson made two free throws with 5 seconds left in regulation, Marshall Harris III scored on a layup as time expired to tie it at 60, forcing overtime.

After a 4-4 first overtime, Powers hit 7 of 8 free throws in the second extra period and Drayton made a layup and four free throws. Powers finished with 19 points and eight assists and Drayton had 18 points.

Mike Groselle had 20 points and 14 rebounds and Harris had 14 points to lead The Citadel (4-15, 1-7), which has lost four straight.
