Antonio Hanson scored 19 points and Georgia Southern hit all eight of its free throws in the final 1:20 to hold off Jacksonville State 66-63 on Saturday night, snapping an eight-game skid. Hanson hit five 3-pointers for the Eagles (8-18), who rallied with a 25-5 run in the final 11:31 of the first half to lead 34-23 at the break. After Georgia Southern pulled ahead by 19 with 16:57 left, the Gamecocks (11-16) used a 29-10 run to tie the score at 52-52 with 5:50 remaining. The Eagles responded with an 8-1 spurt to lead 60-53 with 1:20 left. Georgia Southern, which was shooting 66.5 percent from the free-throw line this season, made 25 of 32 foul shots (78.1 percent). Ben Drayton added 17 points for the Eagles. Jeremy Bynum scored 22 of his career-high 28 points in the second half to lead Jacksonville State, which has lost five straight.
