George Washington 60, Charlotte 52
Nemanja Mikic scored a season-high 19 points and George Washington won its third straight Atlantic 10 Conference game with a 60-52 win over Charlotte on Saturday night.
Mikic scored 11 points in the second half, including seven in a row during a decisive 12-3 run for the Colonials (8-11, 3-2), winners of two straight and three of four after losing nine of their previous 10 games.
After the 49ers' Jamar Briscoe sank a 3-pointer, tying the game at 45 with 5:18 remaining, the Colonials went ahead for good on a Dwayne Smith offensive rebound and putback. Mikic followed with three straight baskets for the Colonials, including a fast-break 3-pointer for a 54-48 lead with 1:02 remaining.
Chris Braswell finished with 17 points and 13 rebounds to pace the 49ers (10-8, 2-3), who led by 12 points in the first half. Charlotte opened conference play 2-0 but has dropped three straight.
