George Mason cruises by Longwood for eighth straight win

FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) Marquise Moore scored 17 points, added eight rebounds and George Mason cruised to victory over Longwood 97-60 on Monday night.

Otis Livingston and Jaire Grayer also had 17 points apiece for the Patriots (9-3), who have won eight straight games following a 1-3 start to the season.

George Mason shot 46 percent from the field, hit 10 3-pointers, and finished an efficient 29 of 33 at the free throw line.

Darrion Allen led Longwood (2-6) with 16 points and Isaiah Walton finished with 15 and seven rebounds. The Lancers have lost three straight and are still searching for their first road win of the year.

The Patriots led 50-30 at the half and continued to pour it on in the second. A Grayer 3 via an assist from Livingston made it 72-41, and a late DeAndre Abram trey made it 96-59, tying the largest lead of the night.
