Geffrard leads Stephen F. Austin to 76-64 win over SHSU

NACOGDOCHES, Texas (AP) Clide Geffrard had a career-high 22 points to lead Stephen F. Austin to a 76-64 victory over Sam Houston State in Southland Conference play on Saturday night.

Geffrard, who made 7 of 10 field goals, had 19 points in the first half. Demetrious Floyd finished with 17 and Thomas Walkup had 16 points, eight rebounds and six assists for the Lumberjacks, who beat Sam Houston State for the 13th straight time.

Stephen F. Austin (13-5, 6-0) sprinted to an early lead and took a 44-29 advantage into halftime.

Trailing 73-57 with 4:35 left, the Bearkats mounted a 7-0 run to close to 73-64 with 2:23 remaining. Walkup made three free throws in the final minute to seal the win.

Aurimas Majauskas scored 23 points for the Bearkats (10-10, 5-2), making 7 of 8 field goals, all three attempts from beyond the arc and 6 of 7 free throws.
