Gardner-Webb soars to 125-79 defeat of Toccoa Falls

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. (AP) Tyrell Nelson led the way with 18 points and 10 rebounds as seven players scored 12 points or better and Gardner-Webb marked its home opener by defeating Toccoa Falls 125-79 on Thursday night.
The Runnin' Bulldogs (1-2) shot 65 percent from the floor, dropped in 11 3-pointers and had 30 assists on 49 field goals.
Nelson had five assists and five blocks. David Efianayi scored 17 points and Daniel Laster 14 for Gardner-Webb, the trio of Isaiah Ivey, Dylan Poston and Laquincy Rideau scored 13 points each and Harold McBride 12.
The Runnin' Bulldogs started the game 6-0 run and went into halftime 68-37 on an Efianayi dunk.
Toccoa Falls (2-4) of the National Christian College Athletic Association was led by 14 points from Marques Sullivan, 12 from Cam Williams and 11 each from Carlos Hamlett and Stephen Adams.
