Stefon Johnson had 14 points and a career-high 16 rebounds and hit the game-winning free throw in Gardner-Webb's 63-62 win over Presbyterian on Saturday night.

Johnson was fouled on an offensive rebound with 0.9 seconds left and made the first of two free throws, missing the second on purpose.

But Presbyterian grabbed the rebound, calling a timeout with 0.3 seconds left. Walt Allen's inbound pass then sailed out of bounds.

Laron Buggs scored a career-high 17 points and Jon Moore had 14 for the Runnin' Bulldogs (8-17, 3-10 Big South Conference), who snapped a four-game losing streak.

The Blue Hose (10-15, 4-9) led 31-28 at halftime and shot 64.7 percent in the second half (11 of 17), but Gardner-Webb countered by making 14 of 26 field goals (53.8 percent).

Gardner-Webb had a 45-24 advantage in the paint.

Khalid Mutakabbir led Presbyterian with 17 points.
