Bobby Austin scored 17 points and Furman dominated The Citadel throughout a 77-45 rout Thursday night in a Southern Conference game.

The Paladins (7-7, 1-2) got their first conference win easily. They opened with a 10-0 run, led 31-19 late in the first half and coasted the rest of the way. Up 35-19 at halftime, Furman outscored the Bulldogs (3-11, 0-3) 42-26 in the second half.

Furman simply outshot The Citadel, shooting 55.1 percent (27 of 49) from the floor. The Paladins hit 13 of 29 3-pointers (44.8 percent) and 10 of 12 from the line. Austin was 6 for 7 from the floor, 5 of 6 on 3- pointers. Dominic Early scored 14 points, hitting 4 of 8 3-point attempts.

Cosmo Morabbi scored 14 for The Citadel, which shot 21 for 55 from the floor, just 2 of 11 on 3-pointers.
