Brandon Sebirumbi tallied a double-double, scoring 15 points and grabbing a career-high 11 rebounds to lead Furman past Division III Roanoke College 75-49 on Friday night.
Bryant Irwin added 14 points and two blocks for the Paladins (1-0), while Charlie Reddick had 11 points and two blocks.
Furman couldn't quite separate from Roanoke in the first half, and led 37-27 at the break. But the Paladins went on a 31-8 run out of halftime to blow the game open.
Furman shot 39.1 percent (25 of 64) from the floor compared to just a 31 percent (18 of 58) mark for Roanoke.
The Paladins scored 21 points off Roanoke's 19 turnovers, and outrebounded the Maroons 52-32. Furman also outscored Roanoke 32-18 in the paint.
Kwasi Amponsah led Roanoke with 15 points, while Logan Singleton added 11.
