FSU Basketball Wins Season Opener Over Charleston Southern
FSU basketball used a big day from returning star Dwayne Bacon to get the season opening win over Charleston Southern on Saturday.
A season with plenty of promise got underway for FSU basketball on Saturday – and for the Seminoles, it was another case of Dwayne Bacon showcasing why he’s one of the top players in the country in leading the ‘Noles to the 88-67 victory over Charleston Southern.
Bacon shot 50 percent from the field – including dropping four of six three point attempts – to lead the ‘Noles with 23 points on the night:

Jonathan Isaac, one of top 10 recruits in the nation last year and a projected NBA draft pick if he goes pro after this season, made his first college start and got 10 points on the day. Xavier Rathan-Mayes, who along with Bacon decided to come back to school for another year, had 12 points.
Yes, you have to take this win with a grain of salt considering the Buccaneers went 9-21 last season. But the ‘Noles committed just 10 turnovers while holding CSU to just 40 percent shooting from the field – including just 28 percent from behind the three point line.
FSU basketball will get back on the court this Tuesday at home when they host the Iona Gaels at 7 PM inside the Tucker Center.
