Forte leads Portland State over Sacramento State 81-63

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) Cameron Forte had 26 points and 12 rebounds to help Portland State swept the season series against Sacramento State with an 81-63 win on Saturday night.

Forte was 12 of 15 from the floor and the Vikings (7-10, 3-3 Big Sky) made 64.2 percent (34 of 53). Zach Gengler and Calaen Robinson each had 13 points with three 3-pointers and Isaiah Pineiro scored 10.

Sacramento State (8-9, 1-5) closed within eight on Jiday Ugbaja's layup with 8:03 to go. Portland State pulled away with an 11-2 run to lead 69-52 with 3:40 left.

Portland State, which led the entire way, made nine straight field-goal attempts late in the first half to build a 44-27 lead at the break.

Justin Strings led the Hornets with 17 points and Marcus Graves chipped in 12. Sacramento State made 7 of 23 from 3-point range while Portland State made 6 of 12.
