Michael Snaer scored 19 points and freshman Aaron Thomas had a career-high 15 points as Florida State routed Maine 91-59 on Sunday.

Terry Whisnant had 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting and Okaro White scored 13 for Florida State (5-4), which snapped a three-game losing streak.

Justin Edwards had 19 points, 12 rebounds and five assists for Maine (3-6), which shot just 33.9 percent (21 of 62) and had 19 turnovers. Dimitry Akanda-Coronel added 11 points for the Black Bears.

Snaer had 12 points as Florida State (5-4) pulled ahead 41-27 at halftime. Maine shot 29.6 percent (8 of 27) in the half and committed 11 turnovers.

Florida State shot 43.8 percent (32 of 73) from the floor and made 45.8 percent (11 of 24) from beyond the 3-point arc.

The Seminoles played a cleaner game offensively. They had 16 assists, including five from Devon Bookert. Florida State also had just seven turnovers, just one in the second half.

Mike Allison had nine points and 11 rebounds and Alasdair Fraser had eight points and eight rebounds for Maine, which had a slim 43-42 edge in rebounding.

Florida State was short-handed Sunday. The Seminoles played without Ian Miller (foot) and Terrance Shannon (neck). Center Kiel Turpin played with a mask on his face after taking an elbow during practice. He had five points.

The Seminoles started three guards - Snaer, Whisnant and Montay Brandon - and they combined for 37 points.

Junior-college transfer Robert Gilchrist had a career-high seven points and six rebounds for the Seminoles.
