Florida A&M comes back to beat Coppin St. 82-71

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) Reggie Lewis scored 24 points, including six 3-pointers, as Florida A&M overpowered Coppin State in the second half, winning 82-71 on Saturday.

Coppin State (9-16, 6-6 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) led by five at the half, 37-32. But five minutes into the second half Lewis sank two 3-pointers and a layup, scoring seven unanswered points, to give the Rattlers a 44-41 lead.

Florida A&M (9-16, 5-7) expanded that lead to 80-64 with just under 2 minutes remaining to walk away with the victory.

Jamie Adams scored 14 points, Jamari Bradshaw 12 and Trey Kellum notched a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Rattlers.

Coppin State shot just 38 percent from the field and was led in scoring by Sterling Smith with 20 points. Andre Armstrong had 19 points and Michael Murray recorded 11 points and 13 rebounds.
