DeJuan Wright scored 18 points to lead Florida International past Chattanooga 80-59 on Saturday night.
The Panthers (4-1) never trailed as five players scored in double figures. Marvin Roberts and Phil Gary each finished with 15 points. Gary missed the previous game after suffering a concussion in Florida International's loss against Florida State Nov. 18.
Tremayne Russell scored on consecutive layups off Mocs turnovers early in the second half and helped Florida International increase a 13-point halftime lead to 48-32 with 15:20 left. Russell finished with 13 points and Eric Frederick added 11.
The Mocs scored seven unanswered points and cut the Panthers' lead to 48-39. Josh Odem's corner 3-pointer with 12:26 ended the spurt but Chattanooga could not get closer than the nine-point deficit.
Odem led Chattanooga (2-5) with 13 points.
