Denver Holmes had 15 points, leading five double-figure scorers as Evansville rallied in the second half and held on for a 77-75 win over Miami (Ohio) Tuesday night.

Ned Cox added 14 points, Kenny Harris 12, Ryan Sawvell 11 and Colt Ryan 10 for the Purple Aces (5-5).

The RedHawks led 35-26 at halftime and 44-36 early in the second half. But Troy Taylor's layup and a Cox 3-pointer sparked a 16-2 run for a 52-46 Evansville lead with 11:58 left.

Miami pulled within 60-59 with 6:40 remaining, but a Holmes' dunk helped Evansville put together a 7-2 run to seal it.

Evansville outshot Miami by the slim margin of 59.1 percent (26 of 44) to 56.5 percent (26 of 46), but forced 13 Miami turnovers and tallied seven steals. Evansville turned the ball over eight times.

Julian Mavunga and Brian Sullivan had 18 points apiece to lead Miami (3-6).
