ETSU 72, Stetson 56
Isiah Brown scored 22 points and East Tennessee State overcame the distraction of missing two players in a 72-56 win over Stetson on Thursday night.
The Buccaneers played without senior Tommy Hubbard and junior Sheldon Cooley, both starters. Hubbard sat out after hitting his head in ETSU's last game and Cooley was arrested Thursday for filing a false police report, according to the school's sports information department.
Adam Sollazzo added 19 points, Marcus Dubose had 15 and Luke Poderis had 11 rebounds for the Buccaneers (15-13, 9-8 Atlantic Sun Conference).
ETSU led 29-19 at halftime and opened the second half on an 11-2 run for a 40-21 lead after a dunk by Poderis with 17:18 to play. The Buccaneers led by as many as 22 points in the final 2 minutes.
Adam Pegg scored 12 points to lead Stetson (9-19, 6-11), which had a two-game winning streak against ETSU snapped.
