Micah Williams scored 18 points and hit a game-winning jumper to lead East Tennessee State to a 63-62 victory over Mississippi State on Saturday night.

ETSU (4-4) shot 50 percent from the field (24 of 48) and outrebounded the Bulldogs 35-22.

The Buccaneers overcame 16 turnovers and stole the ball six times.

Down 62-61, Justin Tubbs missed a potential game-tying free throw for the Bucs with 26.6 seconds remaining, but ETSU snagged the rebound and set Williams up for the jumper in the lane.

Kodi Augustus missed a contested layup for Mississippi State (4-2) in the final seconds to seal the Buccaneer win.

Mike Smith led the Bucs with 20 points and was 4 of 5 from 3-point range with nine rebounds. Williams was 8 of 15 from the field.

Mississippi State led 38-25 at the half but struggled for offense late. The Bulldogs were 0 for 8 from beyond the arc in the second half and did not score a field goal in the final 5:04.

The loss is the second in a row for the Bulldogs, who are playing without projected starters Dee Bost and Renardo Sydney due to NCAA suspensions.

Ravern Johnson had a game-high 23 points to pace the Bulldogs and Augustus added 10 points and 7 rebounds.
