Elon thumps Delaware 77-59 behind Seibring

NEWARK, Del. (AP) Tyler Seibring scored 17 points with nine rebounds and Dmitri Thompson added 16 points as Elon defeated Delaware 77-59 on Saturday.

Elon (15-15, 6-11 Colonial Athletic Association) enters next week's conference tournament as the eight seed and Delaware (7-21, 2-15) is 10th.

Leading 21-18 with 11:11 to play before the half Steven Santa Ana and Dainan Swoope hit back to 3s. Marvin King-Davis hit a 3 for Delaware and Swoope followed with another 3 to make it 30-20.

The Phoenix led 39-27 at halftime, and out of the break Seibring hit a pair of 3s sandwiched around a 3 by Delaware's Cazmon Hayes to push the lead to 45-32 and Elon maintained control the rest of the way.

Elon shot 30 for 64 (46.9 percent) and 12 for 36 (33.3) from 3-point range.

King-Davis finished with 20 points and six rebounds and Kory Holden had 16 points and seven assists for the Blue Hens.
