Elon pulls away in final minute, beats Northeastern 71-67

BOSTON (AP) Tyler Seibring scored 11 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and made the go-ahead jumper with 1:14 left to spark Elon past Northeastern 71-67 on Saturday night.

Kwesi Abakah split a pair of free throws and Northeastern led 65-62 with three minutes remaining. Seibring answered with a layup and a field goal, and the Phoenix made 5 of 6 free throws to seal it.

Dmitri Thompson had 19 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field to lead Elon (13-10, 4-6 Colonial Athletic Association).

David Walker made six 3-pointers and finished with 25 points for Northeastern (12-11, 4-6).

T.J. Williams made a 3-pointer and Jeremy Miller converted a 3-point play to give the Huskies a 62-54 lead with 8:27 left. Northeastern then missed its next eight field goals before finally making a layup with three seconds left.

Northeastern had a 14-point lead early in the second half.
