Elite recruit Jaylen Brown commits to California
By Matt Lombardi.
Cuonzo Martin and the California Golden Bears have landed one of the most talented players in the entire country. Friday night, five-star power forward Jaylen Brown, who hails from Marietta, Georgia, officially announced his intentions to play for Cal in 2015. He made his decision after his team’s (Wheeler High School) banquet. He reportedly told the senior class that he was going to announce his commitment tonight just before the event.
Scout’s Evan Daniels was the first to break the news.
Brown, a 6-foot-7, 217-pound specimen, is ranked as the No. 5 player in the country by 247 Sports. He chose Cal over four other finalists – Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan and North Carolina. He was considered a heavy lean to the Wolverines before the announcement.
