Brandon Bowdry scored 20 points and Eastern Michigan took advantage of 35 free-throw attempts Saturday to knock off Buffalo 78-65.

The Eagles (7-17, 4-7 Mid-American) were 24 of 35 from the line despite missing 6 of 11 attempts in the final minute. Darrell Lampley came off the bench to hit all 10 of his free throws for Eastern Michigan, finishing with 15 points. Derek Thompson added 13 points and Jamell Harris had 11 points and five blocks.

Buffalo (15-8, 7-4) attempted only 12 free throws, making nine. Javon McCrea led the Bulls with 17 points and seven rebounds. Zach Filzen had 14 points and Dave Barnett 13. Byron Mulkey added nine points and seven assists.

Buffalo pulled within 57-53 on a dunk by McCrea, but Eastern Michigan held the Bulls without a field goal for the next 4 minutes and 24 seconds during an 8-1 run that made the score 65-54 with 3:11 remaining.
