Duquesne snaps 8 game skid with win over Saint Joseph's

PHILADELPHIA (AP) Micah Mason hit five 3-pointers and scored 28 points to lead Duquesne to a 78-70 win over Saint Joseph's in the regular season finale for both teams on Saturday.

The win snaps an eight game losing streak for the Dukes (16-15, 6-12 Atlantic 10) heading into the conference tournament which begins Wednesday.

Derrick Colter added 18 points and L.G. Gill finished with 14 points and 14 rebounds for Duquesne, who shot 50 percent from the field and hit 11 3-pointers.

Aaron Brown led Saint Joseph's (24-7, 13-5) with 20 points.

A DeAndre Bembry jumper for the Hawks cut the Dukes lead to 73-70 with 2:28 left. Those were Saint Joseph's final points however, as Duquesne scored the last five to put it away. Mason drilled a 3 and added a free throw to make it a seven-point game and Darius Lewis hit another from the line to end it.
